What Is Microsoft Terminal Server?

Filed under: Uncategorized — miscallaneousblog @ 3:52 am

Microsoft Terminal Server is a component of the Windows operating system that allows users to remotely access servers and applications over the internet or a local area network. Terminal Server runs on Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 Server and Windows NT 4 Terminal Server. Client devices connecting to a Terminal Server can be Windows workstations, Macintosh or Linux machines, mobile devices and dumb terminals.

When Terminal Server is installed and enabled on a Windows Server, users can connect to virtual desktops, or single instances of an application. User’s applications, or virtual desktops, are executed on the server instead of the client. The end user sees their terminal services session across the network or internet connection, similar to VNC or Citrix.

Unlike these other remote control programs, a Windows Terminal Server runs a in a multi user mode that allows multiple users to log into the server at the same time. Depending on the hardware and resources that the server can provide, a single Terminal Server can support dozens or even hundreds of simultaneous users.

Terminal Server sessions provide support for many client side resources. For example, a Windows 2003 Terminal Server supports accessing your local disk drives, printers, serial ports, sound and the windows clipboard while connected to a Terminal Services session.

The Windows XP Pro operating system also provides similar functionality. It is called Remote Desktop . The main difference is that it only supports one user at a time. If you connect to a Windows XP Pro machine via a Terminal Services session, it will actually lock the console of the physical machine. Remote Desktop can be enabled on an XP Pro machine by accessing the System applet, selecting the Remote tab and checking the option that says Enable Remote Desktop on this computer .

Building a stable Terminal Server solution can be a lot of work, and this article merely scratches the surface of the technology, but hopefully you now have a better idea of what it is and what it can do.

How a 21 Year Old Makes Enough Money To Go To College For Free

Filed under: Uncategorized — miscallaneousblog @ 3:51 am

How many times have you stayed up to watch a late-night infomercial, explaining to how you could “make millions” doing hardly any work?

I know I used to watch them, hoping one day I’d finally find something actually worth investing my time and money into.

Fortunately I never had to take the route of taking the advice of some “expert” who wanted $599 from me to learn the secrets of the trade. I found something much more powerful, much easier, and much cheaper. It also takes up much less of my time.

What I’m talking about is a company called Site Build It! - also known as SBI! (Yes, the exclamation point is supposed to be there).

The owner of this company is an absolute genius. He found a growing trend - that of building websites online - and figured out the weaknesses of other hosting companies and online website building companies, and turned them into SBI’s strengths.

You see, building a website online is one of the easiest and best things you can do to create yourself an extra stream of income. All you need is a little of your time, some knowledge about any topic you’re interested in, and the help of SBI!

However you’ll still hear many complaints from people that they’ve tried building websites online and it doesn’t work anymore. I’m here to tell you that the only reason they aren’t succeeding is because they don’t have Site Build It!

Another complaint from website owners is that although they thought it would be cheap to set up a website, it really isn’t. Website builders lure you into thinking that you’ll only pay for the website address and the hosting fees, but they “forget” to mention that you’ll need thousands of dollars worth of extra tools in order to do well. They also don’t mention the fact that unless you have studied Internet marketing for hundreds of hours, you will probably have no idea what you’re doing.

With SBI! it’s very different. For one, it’s an all inclusive package. You won’t ever have to buy any other software or tools in order to make your website succeed. You won’t need to devote hundreds of hours into learning how to build and market a website on the Internet. Using the very unique “block-builder” literally anybody can make a website.

When I came across this company, I was blown away. Finally, an answer to all my problems was right in front of my eyes. I had this underlying feeling inside me that was saying “this is the opportunity you’re looking for”. After you learn more about the company, you’ll probably feel the same way.

So I decided to purchase the product. After all, it comes with a satisfaction guarantee which means that if you’re not happy with it, you can get a refund at any time.

I spent some time watching their 10-day action guide in order to learn the basics, and I was ready to go. I researched a few passions of mine (using the amazing tools they provide to make it super-easy) and figured out what would be the most profitable.

So I started writing, adding graphics, and setting up the website. To be honest, I spent a lot of time on it in the beginning because I got addicted! I never thought I would enjoy writing as much as I do now.

My income has grown every month, and right now I make enough money each month to pay off my college loans that I’ll have to start paying when I graduate college this year.

How would you like to pay your mortgage each month, even if you hardly work? Or how about just have more money to spend on your spouse, entertainment, your children, or to fund other investments?

As a testament to how powerful it is to have your own website, let me share this with you. I just got back from vacation a few days ago. I was gone for a week and had absolutely no access to a computer. When I got back I checked my stats and figured out that I made $135 - while on vacation!

Another great thing about having your own website is that you get to share your passion with thousands of people. It’s a great feeling knowing that you’re the “expert” people come to if they have questions about your passion or hobby.

SBI! has changed my life in such a way that I can’t explain it. It’s taught me countless lessons, made me more passive income than I could have ever expected, and continues to make more money as times goes on. The SBI! community is the most amazing online community I’ve ever been a part of, and the owner, Ken Evoy, is a phenomenal person.

I believe everything happens for a reason. That being said, I believe theirs a reason that you found and read this article. That’s why I encourage you to visit the website listed in my bio just below this article and check out the website for further details. Opportunities are missed everyday. Don’t let today be one of those days.

Don’t Lose the Fat: Why Some Diet Gurus May Have Steered You Wrong

Filed under: Uncategorized — miscallaneousblog @ 2:26 am

It’s become a mantra. Fat is bad.

At least, that’s what almost all the diet gurus say.

But did you know that when we cut too much fat from our diets, we may be eliminating the very element we need to absorb the vitamins and nutrients that keep us healthy.

That’s because certain vitamins, especially in fruits and vegetables, are fat-soluble. In other words, your body can’t absorb nutrients unless enough fat is present.

So if you’re constantly eliminating the fat from your diet to cut calories or to follow the latest warnings, you may be getting far less healthful effects from your salads, other vegetables and fruits.

In studies released in 2004 and again this year by Ohio State University, researchers found that the absorption of carotenoids from yellow, orange, and red vegetables is better when you eat them with some fat. Carotenoids are believed to have cancer-fighting properties.

Here is a partial list of some fat-soluble compounds that may be absorbed better if you eat them with fat:

1. Beta Carotene. This can be found in foods such as cantaloupe and carrots.

The researchers suggest eating salads with full-fat rather than low-fat or no-fat dressings. So if you put carrots in your salad, full-fat dressing may help you to absorb the nutrients.

But with so many people unable to stay on strict low-fat or veggie diets, why not choose something that tastes a little better? For example, something that people in Pittsburgh once called a Boston cooler.

You cut a cantaloupe in half (leave the rind on), clean the seeds out of the middle, and put a scoop of chocolate or vanilla ice cream in the hollow of the half-melon.

Then place the half-melon in a bowl so it doesn’t fall over when you try to eat it. You eat the ice cream and the melon with a spoon.

It’s about 250 calories, but it’s a great snack or dessert. You get to indulge with ice cream, but still get some good nutrients from the cantaloupe.

It’s also filling. So you shouldn’t be as hungry as when you just nibble on a salad.

And the best part is that the fat in the ice cream may enhance your body’s ability to absorb the fat-soluble compounds from the cantaloupe. (Although no one knows for sure at the moment.)

2. Lycopene. This is the red carotenoid found in watermelon, tomatoes and pink grapefruit.

It’s also a potential cancer fighter. Researchers have shown that our bodies absorb the lycopene in tomatoes more efficiently as sauce, juice or ketchup.

Here again, rather than always eating salads with full-fat dressing, why not try cheese ravioli with tomato sauce? It’s a tasty, satisfying dinner.

And you may be enhancing your absorption of the lycopene in the tomato sauce with the cheese in the ravioli.

3. Vitamin E. This can be found in broccoli, mangoes, peanuts and spinach.

Some research suggests that vitamin E can help your heart and possibly prevent blood clots. But the results aren’t conclusive yet.

However, a recent German study with rats showed that eating trans fats actually slowed the absorption of vitamin E when compared to other types of fats. So this may get tricky.

4. Lutein. This antioxidant can be found in dark green, leafy vegetables like spinach and also in egg yolks.

Lutein is supposed to help your skin and your eyes, particularly in reducing the risk of macular degeneration.

I find it interesting that we’re allowed to eat eggs again when the food police vilified eggs for so many years - particularly egg yolks.

Have we also gone too far in vilifying fat?

So before you completely cut the fat from your diet, think about the nutrients you may be missing.

Now I’m not saying we should eat only high-fat foods.

But while it’s not healthy to go to extremes with high fat, it seems as though it’s not healthy to go to extremes with low fat, either.

Maybe it isn’t only the fat that’s making us fat, but also the number of calories we consume. Some moderation in both areas just might do the trick.

And I believe people are more likely to lose weight if they like the foods they eat.

So talk to your doctor about whether you really need to cut so much fat from your diet. Or is it healthy to have a little ice cream or ravioli once in a while?

His answer might surprise you.

Santa Claus Around the World

Filed under: Uncategorized — miscallaneousblog @ 2:26 am

Christmas is a worldwide phenomenon, and so is the holiday’s number one fan and symbol, Santa Claus. So it makes sense that because people all over the world celebrate Christmas differently, they also see Santa in different ways and have different traditions.

For instance, in France Christmas goes by the term Noel, and Santa goes by the name Pere Noel. Like the United States, the French who celebrate the holiday do so with a Christmas tree. Sometimes, the French decorate their trees in the traditional, which is with bright red ribbons and real candles, instead of the garland, electric lights, and fancy decorations used in the US. They also believe in decorating outside, especially the evergreen trees on their properties, which they cover with lights that they leave on all night long.

In Hungary, the Christmas tradition is a bit different than the French or American versions. In this Eastern European country, Santa Claus is called the “Winter Grandfather,” or Mikulas in their language. He comes not on Christmas Eve, but on December 6. It’s the job of children before this day to make sure that they are clean and that they have cleaned their rooms. For these good children, Winter Grandfather leaves candies and toys for them in freshly cleaned shoes or boots. For those children who don’t clean? They get a golden birch, which means they deserve a spanking! In Hungary it’s not Santa Claus (or Winter Grandfather), but Baby Jesus and the angels who brings presents and the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. To give him time to set them up, families usually go visit a relative’s house or go to the movies.

In Germany, the holidays are all about the decorations. They love putting electric candles in their lights, and covering their homes with all sorts of lights and colors. The German specialty decoration is the Adventskranz, which is actually a leaf wreath with four candles in it. And like many American homes, Germans like to decorate inside with a manger scene, the famous depiction of the stable, with Baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph, animals, and the Three Wise Men. Father Christmas brings children from Germany presents on Christmas Eve, while St. Nicholas brings small gifts on December 6.

Kids should consider moving to Latvia along the Baltic Sea for Christmas time. There, Father Christmas brings presents for all of the 12 days of Christmas, with the first day of gift giving coming on Christmas Eve. Latvia also claims to be the home of the first ever Christmas tree, documented in the year 1510. Then again, you might want to check the menu before visiting this country. The traditional meal on Christmas is brown peas with bacon sauce, sausage, cabbage, and small pies.

Here’s a meal that sounds delectable and Christmas will still be a blast-it’s in New Zealand. Since Christmas arrives in the middle of summer for New Zealand children, their Christmas dinners usually include foods on the BBQ, like ham, shrimp and fish. Many towns enjoy Christmas parades throughout the holiday season. Similar to children in America, families open Christmas presents from Santa Claus on Christmas Day. However, some people love Christmas so much, they also celebrate this Santa-driven holiday in the middle of July, when it is cold enough for a proper English Christmas dinner.

Wherever you are on the map, you can obviously enjoy Christmas in one way or another. And don’t worry. With his reindeer-powered sleigh, Santa will find you no matter where in the world you are living.

Car Travel with Pets

Filed under: Uncategorized — miscallaneousblog @ 1:25 am

You really need to wear heavy leather gloves (the kind that go up to your shoulder) if you are going to try to get my cat Eddie into the Mini-Van, but many pets love to drive, almost more than their owners. While I’ve only had to take Eddie for a ride a few times, he has taught us a great deal about what can happen to the inside of a car, with a pet.

Pets are a joy to have with us, but they do have special needs to help them stay comfortable and us happy.

Pet Hair

Hair is the hardest item to clean off upholstery and carpeting. Trying to vacuum it up is a waste of time for the most part. The fibers weave into the carpeting and fabrics of our car, and grip.

What gets hair off the carpet and fabrics fast and easy is rubber or latex gloves. There is a product out there called the Pet Sponge, which works great too, but it is really made from the same substance. Just put on a glove, get it a little damp and run your hand across the pet hair area. Your glove will fill with pet hair, effortlessly. Rinse off, and go in for another swipe.

You might consider getting a Pet Pad for your traveling pet.

Heat

If you are traveling with a pet, get a sun shield. Seriously. I know we sell them, and this looks like a great place to put an ad, but the facts are, cars heat up way too fast, and much hotter than we realize.

From a cool just-air-conditioned state, it takes a car less than 20 minutes to reach 120 degrees sitting in the sun, even with the window ‘cracked’ open for fresh air. In summer times, or hot days, the interior can reach 150 degrees in the same amount of time.

Well made, reflective sun shields can reduce your car’s temperature by 50 degrees. Leaving the window ‘cracked’ is still a good idea, but keeping the interior heat level down is much better.

Urine

Don’t ask.

Getting the Urine out of the interior carpeting is a bit of a chore. Start with baking soda. Just pour it on dry and let it sit over night. Vacuum and repeat, letting the baking soda sit again. Vacuum up the last layer and then pour into the affected area Hydrogen peroxide. Let this evaporate, and then vacuum.

This won’t remove any stain or discoloration, but it will get the odor out and neutralize the urine itself. From this point you can use a carpet or upholstery cleaner to remove any stain that might remain.

Comfort

Keeping pets comfortable and safe inside the vehicle is sometimes a creative challenge. We do have several car accessories for pets which can help you with some of the details.

Cargo Area Travel Liner: This is full comfort. The padded liner is cushioned and slip resistant, and allows your pet full access to the cargo area of your min-van. The liner is water resistant and tear resistant. Your pet can walk around on the textured fabric without slipping and sliding. The rear of your vehicle can get warm, so the fabric is breathable to keep your pet comfortable in any season.

Seat Covers: Same idea as the cargo liner, just a smaller space. The fabric and comfort are the same, and so is the ease of cleaning and the protection provided to your interior.

Pet Barriers: These barriers limit your pets movement, and with many pets this is a good idea. It also adds to their safety.

With pet barriers, windows can also be let down a little more, providing cooler conditions when you have to leave your pet in the vehicle while traveling. (it is still a very good idea to also use the sun shield I talked about earlier).

Organizer: Pets need stuff! Feeding dishes, snacks, leashes, collars, scoopers, and so much more. Pets need a lot of stuff, and keeping it organized is a good thing when traveling with your four legged partner. Leashes get tangled and lost quickly. Having a place to store these required items, for easy access, allows you more fun and less hassle.

Orange County Schools: Closing The Gap

Filed under: Uncategorized — miscallaneousblog @ 1:25 am

Recent education reforms in the state of Florida have shown to be of benefit to the students in Orange County Schools. The reforms have hit their intended target - low-income minority kids.

More students than ever are reading at grade level in Orange County Schools. More low-income Orange County Schools students are also enrolling in Advanced Placement classes and taking the SATs. Once failing inner-city schools are getting As. A recent report on the nation’s largest urban school districts gave Orange County Schools high marks for boosting the performance of kids from all racial and economic backgrounds.

Orange County Schools is the second largest employer in Central Florida. It employs 836 administrators, 342 at the district level, 454 at the school level and 40 at the technical level. The system employs 13,107 instructional faculty, 8,546 classified employees, and 3,380 part-time positions, with a grand total of 25,869. The instructional and classified personnel make up nearly 97% of Orange County Schools workforce. A large percentage of its teachers - 37% to be exact - have advanced degrees. 34% of those hold Master’s Degrees and the rest hold Specialist’s or Doctorate degrees.

Orange County Schools had 68 teachers who earned certification last year from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), the teaching profession’s highest credential. Orange County Schools have a total of 537 nationally certified teachers, one of the highest numbers in the state. The beginning salary for a teacher with a bachelor’s degree is $35,895. If that teacher holds a master’s degree, it is $38,399, for a specialist’s degree, $39,734, and for a doctorate, $40,958. The average pay for teachers is $40,415 per year. In addition, Orange County Schools contributes an average of $11,958 per teacher per year for benefits such as life insurance, health insurance, FICA, and retirement.

The United States Department of Education (DOE) announced on May 31, 2007, that Orange County Schools earned a $27.3 million dollar grant to retain and hire teachers and administrators at 10 middle (Jones, Evans, and Oak Ridge) and high schools (Carver Memorial, Meadowbrook, Walker, Westridge, Robinswood, and Howard). This teacher incentive fund means that teachers at those Orange County Schools can earn up to $4,000 more per year. The bonus is based on increased student achievement levels. In Florida, Orange County Schools earned the largest amount of money from the US DOE for teacher incentive purposes.

Students in Orange County Schools come from 179 different countries and speak 137 different languages and dialects. The system currently serves more than 177,000 students, in 170 schools. 117 of those schools are elementary schools, with 82,115 students. There are 32 middle schools with 38,885 students, 17 high schools with 50,169 students, 4 exceptional education schools with 450 students, and students who attend alternative/charter schools number 5,689.

Orange County Schools boasts a graduation rate of 72.2%, which is above the state average. The dropout rate is 1.9%, well below the state average of 3.5%.

Over the last three years, Orange County Schools have had record numbers of high school students scoring at college level on Advanced Placement (AP) exams. AP enrollment has increased for all student groups, but especially among African Americans and Hispanics.

Titanium Wedding Ring For Men

Filed under: Uncategorized — miscallaneousblog @ 12:11 am

Titanium has been on the market for ring bands for only a few years now. Yes, some of the bands combine gold with titanium. Titanium is an extremely light weight but quite durable and hard metal. Still, titanium will eventually scratch a little. Gold as an inlay or added band to the ring will wear much more quickly but may be more easily restored than can the titanium.

First, make sure you have white gold and not yellow. Both colors of gold are used as additions on titanium rings. To check, you need to clean any possible tarnish from the gold to see what the color truly is. White gold can turn a yellowish color but generally not so yellow as yellow gold. Use a paste of baking soda or a good jewelry polishing cloth of the type to remove tarnish and rub the ring. If white gold, the yellowish tarnish should come off and show the true color.

If not, likely the gold is yellow to start. Yes, the gold will look differently against titanium than with metals of other colors. I cannot say that white gold would look yellow since the rings I have seen look either yellow or white, depending on the original color of gold. White should look whiter, in my opinion.

Still, the white may be tarnished to a yellow tinge especially if of low karat such as 375. Generally, the gold applied to titanium in the usa is at least 14k, 585 and not the lower 9kt you mention. I assume you are in a British part of our world. If made for sale in the UK, 9kt is a possibility but generally the gold is of higher karat on titanium rings.

Refinshing the ring. Unfortunately, with the innate hardness of titanium even in jewelry alloys, home polishing will not restore the ring. You will need to visit a jeweler and ask that the ring be refinished. This is possible using aggressive buffing compounds on a motorized buffing machine. The compound must be aggressive to remove scratches from the hard metal. The jeweler must be quite careful to avoid too much polishing of the gold since that metal is much softer and could be buffed to a thin condition.

The jeweler will likely use a hard felt buffing wheel which will allow proper cutting of the titanium and is sharp edged enough to control the contact of the wheel with the gold section. The aggressive polishing is followed with finer compounds and lastly perhaps with a green rouge which will polish both the titanium and gold at the same time.

If the gold is white but tarnished to a yellow tinge, you may ask the gold area be plated with rhodium, a very hard and durable white metal often used to preserve white color in white golds. The jeweler may plate the gold only and avoid the titanium since you certainly do not want it to be plated with a white color!

This is done by masking or covering the titanium with a lacquer, red fingernail polish preferred since it is easy to see the start and end of the protective mask of lacquer. Then, using a simple electroplating bath, the rhodium is applied and will help keep the white gold white for a longer period of time. If after the first buffing to restore the luster, you may decide not to have the rhodium plate done. That is also a fine choice.

I am sorry there is not an at home remedy to repolish the titanium. The metal is simply too hard to polish without motorized buffing with the proper buffing wheel and polishing compounds. I do hope you enjoy the ring. Resizing is a problem and the titanium may be stretched or perhaps compressed about 1/2 finger size at the maximum. Cutting and adding or cutting to size down is not possible for the jeweler.

The Perfect Catch: Planning A Fishing Vacation

Filed under: Uncategorized — miscallaneousblog @ 12:10 am

When planning for a fishing vacation the first thing you have to know is what type of fishing would you like to do. There are so many different types from fly fishing to deep sea fishing to lake fishing that it is hard choose from, especially from the avid angler. If you care more for the location than the type of fish than pick a place you would like to go and see if those places have fishing nearby, which they probably do.

Many fishing trips are also planned depending on what time of year it is. In some bodies of water the fish bite more than at others for various reasons. When planning a fishing trip look into the fishing conditions at the place that you want to go and try to go when there is a better chance of the fish biting.

The type of trip also is based on the type of fish you want to catch because obviously you aren’t going to go fly fishing if you want to catch a marlin. If you want a certain type of fish scout out where they are and go from there. When planning a fishing vacation there are so many things that factor in tow what trip you want to take by knowing what you want out of the trip it makes it that much easier to plan for it.

Lodging is also important when planning a fishing trips because many times the fish bite better early in the morning so you want to stay as close to the fishing area as possible. Look at lodges, hotels, and campsites beforehand and if you picked the trip make sure to make reservations well ahead of time as you don’t want to get to a place that is full only to have to go further from the fishing spot.

The most important thing to know when planning a fishing trip is what type of trip you want to take, whether it be by fish, area, or fishing style, knowing this will make the planning much easier.

What To Do When Writing An E-Book

Filed under: Uncategorized — miscallaneousblog @ 11:16 pm

Writing an e-book is a popular means of expression these days. People do it for a number of reasons - for the love of writing, in order to express an opinion, to spread awareness or simply to make money! But regardless of the objectives for doing so, writing an e-book requires careful planning and preparation.

Let’s see how ready you are.

1. Examine your reasons.

First and foremost, understand your motives for wanting to write one. Is it out of passion or to establish your position? Are you looking to earn recognition or revenue?

A book about your support for conservation of rain forests will read very differently from an instruction manual for building your own furniture. Once you’ve written the e-book, the way to publicize it will also depend on the intended outcome. Make your choice upfront.

2. Choose the subject.

If you’re Michael Schumacher, well then that’s easy! But for the rest of us, identifying the subject of an e-book is not necessarily a done deal. For a professional in the world of finance, the choice could be as diverse as writing about the best investment options to creating a primer on terms used in accounting.

While deciding a subject, base your choice on your level of expertise, the need for such information and the proliferation of other written matter on the same topic. It’s always a better idea to cater to the unmet needs of a niche audience than to compete for attention in a mass market.

3. Identify your audience.

Continuing from the last point, it is very important to pinpoint the target reader of your e-book, right from the get-go. The way you write and promote the book will most certainly depend on who is going to read it.

4. Create a format

A book’s a book, so it’s got to have a structure. However, there are additional possibilities with e-books that you might not find in traditional print paperbacks. Here are some of them:

? DIY - A “how to” or “ten tips for…” format works brilliantly for e-books. Tell it with minimum fuss, but make sure the information is complete and usable. Works well with almost any subject.

? FAQ - this makes quick and easy reading. Put yourself in the readers’ shoes and ask all the questions they would. Answer them. Period.

? Bulleted or Numbered Lists - reading off a monitor is not as easy as reading off a page. So while writing an e-book, remember to make it easier for the audience. Lists help the viewer pick up key points easily.

Apart from the structure, you also need to decide what software to use to publish your e-book - but you could just as easily use more than one. HTML, Adobe or Exe files - take your pick. That’s the whole point of going online.

5. Identify the channel

We spoke about this before, remember?

A lot depends on where your core readership comes from. You have control over how your e-book is circulated, so you could choose to put it exclusively on your website, retail it through others or make it available through a select list of partner sites. Are Professional Laser Teeth Whitening Techniques Better?

Filed under: Uncategorized — miscallaneousblog @ 11:15 pm

The latest advancement in laser whitening gel is used with an in-office laser that results in a very fast and effective bleaching system. The gel is applied to the teeth after appropriate gum and mouth soft tissue protection is placed. Then, a laser light is used to activate the chemical in the gel that has been especially designed to absorb energy from the light and quickly penetrate tooth surfaces. This technique results in a very fast laser whitening effect.

The ZOOM teeth whitening system is an example of this type of system. The length of time needed for full color restoration of course depends on the amount and type of tooth enamel discoloration apparent. Although very fast, many dentists are wary of this process due to the potential of gum and soft tissue discoloration.

The cost of this very fast laser whitening can vary based on your location with many of the larger cities being more expensive than other areas. Laser teeth whitening process in a professional dental office can be expected to cost between 250 and 500 dollars on average for the full treatment.

Generally speaking, the price of teeth whitening increases with the number of in-office treatments required. So the more discolored the teeth, the more visits are required and the potential of a higher total cost. Dental insurance typically does not cover laser whitening as it’s considered cosmetic.

Remember though that once the dentist has you in the office, they will want to do a complete exam to check for general dental health. Few if any dentists will do a whitening treatment on teeth that need corrective dental work done. That is, a good cleaning, cavities filled, etc.

Dentists, like all professionals, will push to get all the business they can from you. It’s in your best interest though to carefully consider the importance of good dental health. So if it comes to a choice between teeth whitening and good dental health, your best interests are served by having a solid set of teeth even if they may not be as white as desired. This means that if you want whiter teeth from a dentist office, plan on a full commitment to total tooth care and mouth health.

Laser teeth whitening treatments though are not more effective on whitening teeth than many quality custom tray home products. Though much faster results are available, you run the risk of gum and tissue damage due to the aggressiveness of the products used in laser whitening. Teeth sensitivity can also be an issue.

So the results are in. Much faster and expensive laser teeth whitening or a slower though probably safer home teeth whitening solution, the choice is yours.
